Brewer High's Craft Fair: A Community-Powered Boost for Robotics
Creativity Meets Innovation
In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Brewer High School’s gymnasium was transformed into a lively hub of creativity and innovation during the 12th Annual Fall Craft Fair. Hosted by the school’s robotics team, known as Team Orange Chaos, the fair showcased a wonderful blend of handcrafted items and cutting-edge technology.
Support Beyond Boundaries
Local crafters, vendors, and members of Brewer High gathered in support of the team’s largest fundraising event of the year. Among the stalls lined neatly are handcrafted jewelry, holiday apparel, and even some of the very robots that the fundraiser supports. According to WABI, the event was not just about raising funds but about creating a sense of equal opportunity for students to join the world of STEAM.
A Legacy of Inspiration
Tracy Hogan, one of the founding pillars behind the Brewer High robotics endeavor back in 2013, highlighted the consistent participation of vendors. “Our supporters love the program, and it’s a joy to see the kids’ passion shine. It’s a cycle of inspiration,” Hogan shared with a reminiscent smile.
Lighting the Path to STEAM Careers
Nikolas Long, a proud member of the robotics team, expressed excitement about sharing their work with the community. “Seeing our robots inspire others to join STEAM fields is incredible,” he shared, depicting the influence this event hopes to ripple across the community.
Racing Toward New Horizons
Mark your calendars! Brewer High will compete alongside peers in the Pine Tree District Qualifying Event. This event at Falmouth High School from March 6th to 8th forms part of the ongoing journey in the FIRST Robotics Competition, representing another step in the exciting path laid by initiatives like the craft fair.
In this embrace of artistry and technology, Team Orange Chaos at Brewer High School continues to bridge communities and inspire future innovators, one craft and robot at a time.
